Pennsylvania Law now requires employers who work with students in school to work programs to have the same clearances as other professionals who work with school aged children. This law is applicable to the Cooperative Education and Career Internship programs at UBCTS.
As of July 1, 2015, House Bill 1276 Child Protective Services Law (CPSL), mandates the following three (3) background check clearances for the adult who is considered the designated supervisor of the minor. A copy of all clearances and related documentation must be provided to UBCTS School to Work Coordinator.
Act 15 states:
The designated adult supervisor is required to be in the childs immediate vicinity at regular intervals during the program.
Immediate vicinity is defined as an area in which an individual is physically present with a child and can see, hear, or direct and asses the activities of the child.
